Word document title bar says Read-Only due to document open in QuickView.
Cause:
The file is being viewed in Windows 95 Quick View while the user opens the file in Word. Although the Word file is open, the user cannot make changes to the file.
Solution:
Close the Quick View window. Switch to the 'Quick View' window and select 'Exit' from the 'File' menu. Close the file in Word and reopen in Word.
1) Press ALT+TAB until the QuickView window box appears to switch to the QuickView window.
2) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Exit' to close QuickView.
3) Return to Word.
4) Close the document in Word.
5) Reopen the document in Word.
